No "swordplay" filmmakers were more respected than director Chu Yuan and novelist Ku Lung. Between 1975 and 1980 alone, they collaborated on more than a dozen popular, memorable tales. So this spirited 1980's production was both an homage and continuance of those great days, as no less than three kung-fu choreographers worked with such fine kung-fu artists as Shaw's first great international star, Lo Lieh, and the amazing kicker from the cult "venoms" films, Sun Chien, to win the "Martial Arts World" championship!
