For those of you who love Asian movies check out www.momentumasia.co.uk the site’s wicked! There is a movie titled ‘The Bodyguard’ It’s a non stop action packed Thai film. Anyone know where I can get it on DVD? I love a good Asian gangster movie.
Yeh, apparently it was released today (19th Sept), so you should be able to get it in any store that sells DVDs. Like your taste... really enjoying it too. Check out Born to Fight on the same release... wicked martial arts in that one.
The main actor in Bodyguard was the comic supporting character of Ong Bak. He is very famous in Thailand. Looks quite fun to me, even if as often with Thai movies, they are copying a bit too much HK movies for gunfights (John Woo forever) and cable action. But as long as they put some good muay thai and stunts, should be enjoyable : )
Born to Fight is sadly too silly to be completely enjoyable. The action is incredible for sure, but it's a pity they didn't try to write a decent story. I'm not asking for a Scorcese, but just something a bit more coherent. What you have now is a dramatic story, but with incredible action - sportsmen doing their movies to fight against terrorists. I can't buy this. They should decide: let's make it raw and violent, or let's make it crazy and unrealistic. I preferred Ong Bak to Born to Fight because of this.
