DVD Young Thugs : Innocent Blood
Arts Magic DVD

image

The image quality is not quite bad, but still not really accurate. Moreover the 16:9 image doesn't fill all the space and there are two black frames on the borders. Still it keeps on being well for fast moving images.

sound

Two audio streams are proposed : one is the original audio stream, and the second one is a Dolby Digital 5.1 stream. Yet the 5.1 doesn't give a really good surrounding atmosphere as expected ; sounds keep coming from front speakers, with average quality. Only music is optimized on Dolby quality and is really much better than the stereo stream.

subtitles

No mistakes noticed in the subtitles but sometimes they are not well-synchronized.

special features

Bonus begin with the biography of Takeshi Miike and filmographies of the main cast ; then there is an interview of Takeshi Miike who tells us about many things as the idea, the shooting and the purposes of the movie. So we can watch the trailer, the original VHS cover (with translation) and finally an interesting document about the history of Osaka. Overall, few extras are presented on this DVD but they are quite interesting.

menus

The DVD opens with a nice animation but the menus stay still. The main menu is showed on a nice picture and with the main music theme.

quality/price ration

Average quality and some interesting extras. Not cheap enough but still not too expensive.
All our thanks to ArtsMagic USA for providing us with the DVD.
