DVD Young Thugs : Nostalgia
Arts Magic DVD

image

Image is quite better than the "Innocent Blood" DVD ; indeed the grain is nice and more accurate although it's sometimes a little blurry. By the way there are still the two black frames on each side.

sound

As for the "Innocent Blood" DVD, we can choose between two audio stream : the stereo and the Dolby Digital 5.1 ; this last stream is better than the previous Miike movie : the sound effects are quite the same quality but we can really feel the surrounding atmosphere.

subtitles

Good subs ; no mistake noticed.

special features

It begins with the same biographies of Takeshi Miike than the Innocent Blood DVD and then we have the filmographies of Naoto Takenaka and Saki Takaoka. The following extra is the interview of Takeshi Miike who talks about the making of this movie (it's the following of the interview in the "Innocent Blood" DVD). So we have the trailer, the original VHS cover (translated) and a document about people of Osaka. As for "Innocent Blood", the bonus aren't much but quite interesting.

menus

The DVD opens with a nice animation but the menus stay still. The main menu is showed on a nice picture and with the main music theme.

quality/price ration

Good quality and some interesting extras. Not cheap enough but still not too expensive.
All our thanks to ArtsMagic USA for providing us with the DVD.
